5Days Kilombero Canoe, Mikumi and Udzungwa Mountains Safari

DAY1: DEPART TO MIKUMI AND AN AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE:

You will be picked up at the hotel in Dar es Salaam early morning at around 0630hrs, and then drive 5 – 6 hours to Mikumi. Upon arrival, get a hot lunch in the restaurant inside the park. After lunch, go for an afternoon game drive until sunset. During the game drive at Mikumi National Park, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffe, buffalo, and elephants. You may also be able to spot lions, leopards, and African wild dogs. Likely to be seen animals include zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland, and antelope.You will be back in the late evening for dinner, then check-in, and spend the night at Mikumi Bush Camp Lunch and dinner is included. (Breakfast not included). Drinks not included.

DAY 2: A FULL DAY GAME DRIVE AT MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK:

After an early breakfast, go for a full-day game drive across the Mikumi National Park with packed lunch boxes to see various animals of the park until sunset. The Mkata river floodplain is an attractive point of the park, where you can easily spot a large number of animals, including elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, wild dogs, impala, and a rich number of bird species.
Back in the late evening, get a hot dinner when you are ready, and spend the night at Mikumi Bush Camp. Lunch. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. Drinks not included.

DAY 3: DEPART TO IFAKARA FOR CANOEING SAFARI AT KILOMBERO RIVER:

After breakfast, depart to Ifakara, which takes around four-hour drive, with packed lunch boxes on your way to Kilombero River for the canoeing safari. During the canoeing safari, you will also have a chance of spotting spectacular river bird species wandering around the beautiful scenery of Kilombero, and know how the Wandamba tribe (the people of the Kilombero Valley) live and fish traditionally.Drive back to Udzungwa in the late evening for your hot dinner and spend the night at the beautiful and amazing Udzungwa Twiga Lodge. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. Drinks not included.

DAY 4: HIKING TO UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS AND THE POPULAR SANJE WATERFALLS:

After an early breakfast, go hiking through the beautiful forests and landscape scenery of Udzungwa with packed lunch boxes, along with a professional guide. On the way, you will learn about various trees used for traditional healing, learn about bird life, and then you will be heading towards the top for a great and an amazing view of the famous Sanje Waterfalls.
On top of the waterfall, you can see a great view of the enormous Kilombero Sugarcane Valley, one of Tanzania’s biggest sugarcane plantations. Back in the evening, get a hot dinner, and spend the overnight at Udzungwa Twiga Lodge. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. Drinks not included.

DAY 5: DEPART TO DAR ES SALAAM:

After breakfast, depart to Dar es Salaam. Enjoy your lunch break on the way, and you will arrive at Dar es Salaam in the early evening. Nyasi Adventure will take you back to the hotel or catch your flight back home. Breakfast and lunch are included. You’ll be dropped off at the airport (or hotel).
